Although the bill for reducing greenhouse emissions was rejected, the Gov. O'Malley still claims he has enough of his energy policy priorities to carry out his plans without that bill.

Global Warming to be allayed for this year
This year, global warming is going to be allayed. That means that the temperature is going to go down a fraction of a degree and stay that way through the summer. This does not mean that global warming does not exist.

Can the world afford global warming?
That is the question of many countries and economists of the world right now. At this moment, people are questioning whether or not the world can afford to cut emissions when many of the global markets in turmoil and the U.S. is currently being threatened by recession. The price of slashing emissions is expected to be extremely high and this uncertainty about economies is why governments need to be clear about where they want to go on this issue. Japan, recently issued a report estimating that it would cost 500 billion dollars to just cut domestic emissions 11 percent from 2005 levels by 2020. That is a TON of money, and that is just 11 percent. By bringing this article to your attention, I am not saying that I want countries to stop trying just because it is costly, by all means, keep trying.

The EPA, along with the Bush Administration, is being sued by about over 18 states
This article relates that because of the EPA's inability to comply with the supreme courts' decision about emissions, many of the states are going to sue them along with the Bush administration. These states claim that the Bush Administration is favoring the industries and they feel they are even above the highest authority. Some states even say that the EPA's failure to act is a "dereliction of duty". I think that these states have the right to sue the EPA for not acting.

Poor countries want a say in the global warming plans for 2009
This article is from Bangkok, relating how the larger countries are not including poorer countries in their talks to fight global warming. This is proving to be a problem because more and more poor countries are wanting a say in what the new plans are going to be for 2009. I think that the developed countries should include the developing countries because in these plans because then they can show the world that everybody is participating and that even the smallest countries can bring change. Also, some smaller countries have said that they want to be a part of it so that they can make sure that the big countries do not make plans that will afect them the least an therefore won't have to contribute as much.
